What is Ormech?
Below is how it was started, if you want to know what it really is, look at the bottom of the post.
No, I mean WHAT IS Ormech?
Oh... It's a game based off of progression. A roleplay, but not necessarily a roleplay. Check the forum for more! ;D

What is Ormech?
Below is how it was started, if you want to know what it really is, look at the bottom of the post.
Ormech is a land of fantasy. I've formed it from just a simple dream to what it is now, making my own characters and writing my own stories in school.
In the summer of '09 I had a dream - a rather odd dream at that - it was just me as a dragon flying over a land that seemed to be a mix of video games I've played over the years. I flew over forests, deserts, mountains, plains, lakes, rivers, and the ocean; I didn't have another dream about it. I was curious as to what that was.
I didn't have an actual dream that had characters about this odd land until January '10. In this dream there was an elf girl with long red hair, tight brown pants, brown boots, a green long sleeve shirt (it had really wide sleeves), a piece of armor that covered her torso (which was made of leather on the outside, but it was soft so it moved freely), and a brown belt. The dream followed her through her everyday life; scouting the borders, going to the mage tower, eating in her oddly placed tree house, bartering with the villagers...
The next night I had another dream, and it was her battling a younger girl. She was raising the dead shouting at the younger girl, who was obviously still a child, telling her about she didn't know what her parents "dark" gift of hers really was and even if she knew her family who had been expelled it wouldn't be any different. The older character opened a portal to another realm saying that if you're not going to learn then you can feel free to go to that realm and live there with him. I didn't learn about that, there, or him, until the night after.
I saw the little girl in our world, the real world, watching a boy about the age of 15. She was fascinated by him and signed herself up for a human school, moving into the tree beside the school. She became friends with his younger sister and was invited to their mansion. Their father was angered by the fact that the daughter had invited the girl, but took it out on the boy. The female character was angered by this and went to snap at the father, but the daughter held her back. Emily [the daughter] told the girl to go away, that it would be best if she left. The girl burst out in tears and complied, fleeing, but to a tree close to the house. She watched as the boy was punished and sent out to live on his own. he begged by the street to stay while being soaked by a hose by his father. (This next part is when it becomes very dream-like.) The boy started shrinking, shriveling actually. The girl began to worry and got her cloak from her bag as well as a sacred flower. She jumped down from her perch with the hood on and blasted the father back with bones. She lifted up the boy and carried him to the park's tree house, holding the flower on his forehead when she got there, he began to live again, growing in size and regaining consciousness. Emily followed her friend there and watched from the slide. When the boy was awake again, the girl kissed his forehead, flipped backed her hood and left our world.
Months later I created names and back stories for these two girls I met in my sleep. The older girl become Eloria, with a secret past. The younger, Zephiah, whose parents kept her necromancy a secret from the kingdom since it was considered a "dark art" by them. They were killed for trying to kill their daughter, whose powers they had met not too long before when Eloria entered the scene. Zephiah became Eloria's apprentice, being taught necromancy (later became only advanced necromancy when Windereld hit my dreams).
A week after that I found myself with another Ormech dream. This time it was a little boy elf who was a baby being kidnapped by a group of Amazonian warriors. These warriors would put their stolen males into a magical fire, branding them for life, while they tossed away their own children. The boy was tossed into the fire, crying for his life, and a human came by and shot down the Amazonians with his bow, saving the kid and bringing him to his home. The old man soon died and the child made his way to the elves, completely clothed from head to toe. He didn't make it all the way and met many people along the way who offered him shelter since he appeared to be a young boy while in reality he was already 65. This boy wandered for years until he was 130. The boy came across a descendant of his rescuer. This descendant recognized him immediately, knowing the story from generations before. Wilt (the boys name) trained under this old man (who was 60) named Windereld. After training for 15 years they traveled to the elven homeland of Eldightelm and met with Queen Ili who had appointed Eloria a diplomat, knowing her circumstances. Ili appointed Wilt a diplomat and told him to go live with her in her far off home while Windereld could stay in the village forever.
Later I gave these characters reference sheets with background information on it. I made stories about these characters, created a couple more characters, and started writing a long story.
In November my characters got complete appearances, not just their body build and personality, but a body to live in. This was when my writing really took off, I started keeping multiple journals of their lives without them aging. I started to want to make a forum of my made up world, but felt I'd be disjointed thinking no one would join. For a New Years Resolution I created the forum saying hey, even if I make the forum and no one joins I can still keep this going in my writings.
That is how the land of Ormech was created, the history you won't find in the species background histories.
